The consultation deadline to comment on proposals for changes to The Plough pub has been extended to Monday 19 September.
After the pub closed in April, Sainsbury’s announced plans to turn it into a convenience store.
This is the second time that the deadline for comments has been extended.

The plough building is such a beautiful piece of architecture and it would be sacrifical to turn it into a supermarket.. we already have spar , tesco and many local shops nearby whose trade would dimish with the introduction of a sainsburys convenience shop. Traffic would increase on an already busy road and make it more dangerous with heavy delivery vehicles. We reallly do not need this. An upmarket restaurant is more in keeping with the area and building, or even apartments. Its a No to sainsburys for me.
