Aesthete café in Crosspool has been left badly damaged after a serious overnight fire early Sunday morning.

Fire crews were called to the Sandygate Road venue at around 2.30am, after what is believed to have been an electrical fault in the kitchen. By morning, the back doors and windows were boarded up, smoke still lingered in the air, and fire‑service Red & white tape cordoned off the area.
Thankfully no one was hurt, but the damage is extensive. The entire kitchen has been destroyed and the front‑of‑house area has suffered heavy smoke damage. The Crosspool café will remain closed for the foreseeable future while the owners assess what can be salvaged and decides the next steps.
The owners, who also run a second Aesthete café in Walkley are encouraging customers to support them by visiting their South Road cafe while repairs are underway.
