Re-appeal for witnesses following Crosspool collision

An elderly pedestrian remains in critical condition following a collision in Sheffield at the weekend.

At around 11am on Saturday 25 October, it is reported that a black Toyota Celica was in collision with a 93-year-old woman outside a row of shops in Sandygate Road, Crosspool. The car was reversing when it collided with the woman.

The woman, who has today been named by officers as Betty Vallance from Crosspool, was taken to hospital suffering what were first thought to be minor injuries. However, her condition deteriorated and she remains in a critical condition.

It is believed that Betty may have been using a walking stick.

Investigating officers continue to appeal for witnesses to the collision or events leading up to the collision.
