Milk floats from the doorsteps of Crosspool homes

Thieves who are stealing milk from the doorsteps of Crosspool homes could force our local milkmen to quit.

Local milkman Russell, who delivers dairy supplies to homes across the Crosspool and Lodge Moor area, explained: “In all my years of doing my round, this is the worst for doorstep milk theft. I’m shocked how brazen they are. They follow me round, in what I suspect is a black four wheel drive vehicle. Not only do they steal pints of milk they also take the milk crates and covers. It’s happening all across my round and it’s got to the point where I having to hide the bottles.”

The police would like to hear from anyone who has any information or CCTV footage of the culprits and or of the vehicle used in the crime. Contact the police 101 or if caught in the act ring 999.

Crosspool mums host weekday exercise classes for 2-4 year olds

Two Crosspool-based mums of pre-schoolers have set up exercise classes for 2-4 year old girls and boys to help children build confidence, develop key skills, establish healthy habits – and have lots of fun at the same time.

The Minimovez sessions take place every weekday morning in term time. Most classes are held just down the road at Tapton Masonic Hall and are taught by qualified teacher.

The aim is to promote safe, healthy and fun fitness for children. All the activities are carefully designed to encourage children to be energetic, using the full range of skills to develop self-confidence and self-esteem.

You can book a free taster session by calling 07838 81874 or visiting  www.minimovez.com for more information,

Sandygate Road lines to be repainted week commencing 1 Feburary

The removal of the current Sandygate Road white lines and the painting of a white line in the original position on the road is scheduled for Tuesday 2 February.  Wednesday 3 and Thursday 4 February have been allocated as additional work days in case of weather problems.

Residents raised concerns over the markings online and at the Crosspool Forum Open a Meeting in October. Earlier this month Crookes Councillor Geoff Smith confirmed that the lines are to be put back back to where they were before.
