New Bus Route across the Pennines

Launched on Sunday 25th October by Hulleys of Baslow, the new trans Pennine SnakeX57 bus service, with a single adult fare between Sheffield and Manchester priced at £8 and a return costing £10, re-establishes a direct bus link between Sheffield and Manchester.

The SnakeX57 bus service runs from the Sheffield Interchange via Crosspool, Ladybower Inn, A57 Snake Pass, Glossop and Hollingworth, to Chorlton Street in Manchester, with the full journey scheduled to take 90 minutes.

The last bus for Manchester leaves Sheffield at 10.30pm on Fridays and Saturdays, with the last bus in the opposite direction departing at 11.45pm on those days.

The existing 275 route between Sheffield and Bakewell, via, Bamford, Grindleford and Eyam, has been renumbered the 257, with no change to times.

  1. Thank you for this Ian.

So pleased to learn of. We have seen the bus twice and I was intending to find out more about it

Very reasonable fares. Just a pity we not allowed to use…..at least not for the near future .

Thank you very much. You always keep us up to spec .

    Kind regards

    June
