A New Restaurant Opens in Crosspool

The recently openedValencia Restaurant, located at 34 Sandygate Rd., S10 5RY, adds to the thriving culinary scene in Crosspool. It complements an impressive lineup of local favourites, such as the beloved Papa Ciccio’s restaurant, the Sportsman and Crosspool Tavern pubs, and eateries like Hudson’s Kitchen, Aesthete, and Crosspool Social, all offering delicious meal options.

The kitchen equipment, furniture, and bar area of the former Varanasi restaurant have undergone a complete overhaul. Residential Development Plan

Calver Field

As part of the Sheffield Local Plan, there has been talk about building houses in the Clough Field and Calver Field areas of Crosspool. The plan aims to address housing needs across the city by proposing various sites for residential development, including these areas.

The Sheffield Local Plan is a comprehensive document that outlines how and where development will take place up to 2039. It includes proposals for building over 35,000 new homes across the city to meet the growing demand for housing. The plan also considers the impact on green spaces and aims to balance development with environmental sustainability.

It’s definitely a hot topic for the local community, as any development in these areas could significantly change the landscape and character of Crosspool.

If you are concerned about the impact this might have on the area, or are you interested in the potential benefits of new housing? To view the draft Sheffield Local Plan, visit: https://haveyoursaysheffield.uk.engagementhq.com/draft-local-plan
