Public meeting to discuss 51 bus route with First on Friday 30 May 2014

51 bus
Discuss the 51 bus service with a representative from First

Are you dissatisfied with the 51 bus service? Come along to a public meeting in Crosspool to discuss the Crosspool/Lodge Moor service with a representative of First group later this month.

The meeting takes place on Friday 30 May at St Columba’s church and starts at 7pm.

First Bus Commercial Director Adam Timewell will be in attendance to address your concerns and answer questions about the service.

The meeting has been organised on behalf of the three Crookes councillors as one of their public meetings under the new local ward arrangements.

Crosspool residents warned to be vigilant

A local resident has been in touch to warn of three men aged 18-20 acting suspiciously in Crosspool on Thursday.

One knocked on one door of an empty-looking house and was surprised when the owner answered. He asked for directions and then set off walking the opposite way. He was later seen with two other youths knocking on other doors on nearby streets.

The police were notified via 101 and agreed this was suspicious behaviour. They suggested that it sounded as if they were canvassing properties with the potential to commit burglary.

A reminder to keep an eye out for anyone acting suspiciously and report to 101 if you do. Keep your valuables out of sight and to let elderly relatives/neighbours know that they should exercise caution when opening the door to strangers.

Help lay a bark chipping path on Hagg Copse this weekend

Hagg Copse
Help lay a path on Hagg Copse on Saturday

Could you spare some time to help lay a new bark chipping path on Hagg Copse this Sunday, 11 May?

Join other volunteers from 10am for a Hagg Copse clean-up morning. No experience is required, but if you have a pair of gardening gloves to wear and a spare shovel that would be useful.

Hagg Copse is a community green area on the corner of Coldwell Lane and Manchester Road, maintained by Crosspool Forum.
