Open Meeting bullet points 25-04-19

Crosspool Forum’s next Open Meeting will take place this Thursday 25th April 2019, 7pm, St Columba’s Church Hall, Manchester Road, Crosspool S10 5PL.
Come along and express your concerns on local issues to local councillors, guest speakers and the polic
Care in Crosspool will be holding their annual general meeting at the Stephen Hill Beacon Church, Benty Lane, on Wednesday, May 1st, 2019 at 2.30 pm.

The Guest speaker at the meeting will be Pauline Kimantas, the CEO of the carers centre.
Refreshments will be available after the meeting.
All are welcome

This summer, Crosspool Festival is holding a competition for the people of Crosspool to showcase their creativity in the areas of Art, Photography, Cake Making and Biscuit Decorating.
The competition is open to anyone who lives, works or goes to school in Crosspool.
There is no theme to follow, just show us what you can create in no more than two of your creations.
The categories for entry are as follows:-
Young Children:
You don’t have to make the biscuit, just decorate it using your imagination and make sure you don’t eat them all before showing them off!
Art, Photograph: (two categories for each)
Photography prints can be either A5 or A4 in size. There is no restriction on the size in the art or cake categories.
Details of when and where you can hand in your entries we will announce nearer the time.
Entries will be put on display for everyone to view and admire at
St Columba’s Church, Manchester Road from 2:30 pm Wednesday 3rd July 2019,
Refreshments will be available.
Certificates awarded by the Judges will be present to the winners at 4:30 pm.

Minutes from previous Open Meetings

On Tuesday 29 May the annual fell race organised by Hallamshire Harriers and hosted by Hallam Cricket Club returns to Crosspool.
At 8pm on the Tuesday evening after the second bank holiday in May, runners set off from Hallam Football/Cricket Club’s Sandygate ground, go down Den Bank through the Rivelin Valley and up to Stannington church, before returning by the same route. The Hallam Chase run 3¼ miles long, with 800 feet of climb.
The record time of 19 minutes 42 seconds was set in 1968 by Trevor Wright.
