Easter-themed Lego event at Tapton Hill Congregational Church
On Saturday 31 March at 10.30am Tapton Hill Congregational Church is hosting a Easter-themed Lego event.
Children and their parents/carers can come and take part in a Lego egg challenge. Every child will have a book and a chocolate egg to take home. Donations are welcome.
Care in Crosspool AGM on Wednesday 21 March 2018
Care in Crosspool will be holding their annual general meeting at the Beacon Church at Stephen Hill church on Wednesday 21 March 2018 at 2.30 pm.
Guest speaker at the meeting will be the Chair of The Talbot Trust. Reshments will be available after the meeting.
All are welcome.
Free blood pressure checks on Thursday in Crosspool
Crosspool residents can get a free blood pressure check at St Columba’s church on Thursday.
Gree Cross Chemist is hosting the session, which according to Facebook, starts at 9:30am.
Experts will also be on hand to answer questions about the heart.

Informal carol singing at Stephen Hill church on Monday 4 December
You’re invited to Stephen Hill Methodist church on Monday 4 December at 10:30am for an hour or so of informal carol singing in the forum area over a cup of coffee.
You can request your favourite carol to be sure that you get to sing it at least once this year.

Care in Crosspool invite you to join them for tea and cake at St Columba’s church hall on Monday 6 November between 2pm and 4pm.
Volunteer wins 2017 Crosspool community award
A local resident who has spent decades helping out in our local community has been rewarded with this year’s Crosspool Person of the Year award.
Sheila Lomas is well known for her voluntary work at Tapton Congregational Church where she has been involved with hosting garden parties, Christmas events and summer fetes and other fundraisers.
Her selfless work in the local community has been truly remarkable and she is a worthy recipient for this award.
In 1997 Sheila started the Soup and a Roll lunch club with 6 guests. Still running today, it has grown to nearly 40 diners, meeting monthly for lunch, a natter and an afternoon of entertainment.
Crosspool Forum had arranged for the Lord Mayor Councillor Anne Murphy to make the presentation at the Open Meeting on Thursday, but due to a last minute reschedule the Lord Mayor was unable to attend and has therefore kindly agreed to officially present Sheila with the award a little later in the year.
