New CCTV in Crosspool

As part of the positive initiative and commitment to ensure that the Crosspool precinct remains a vibrant place to shop and dine in Safety, the Crosspool Forum, in collaboration with the police and Sheffield City Council, has funded the installation of a new CCTV high definition night vision camera.

CCTV CameraInstalled in the Crosspool shopping precinct as a preventative deterrent against crime, anti-social behaviour, the high quality of the camera’s footage will make it easier to identify offenders and maximise public safety. Only the police and or the Sheffield City Council will be permitted access to footage from the CCTV system and will only download any footage they deem important enough to resolve a case of crime or an incident of anti-social behaviour.

It is hoped that the new camera will give people confidence in knowing that evidence from the cameras will be readily available to help identify and track offenders.

  1. Henry Clark says:

Hi there, my name is Henry and I’m a first year journalism student at the University of Sheffield. Over the next few months I am producing some news stories from S10 and S11 postcodes.

I’d be really interested in talking to you about this new initiative and finding out a bit more about it. If you would be happy to drop me an email on hwaclark1@sheffield.ac.uk it would be much appreciated!
