The organisers of Crosspool Festival have presented our local scout group with a £656 cheque to go towards renovating Benty Lane scout hut.

The money will be put towards the £10,000 needed to renovate the toilet facilities and  provide disabled access for local groups that use the building including Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Brownies and Guides as well as as computer and dance classes.

Rev. Frances Eccleston, on behalf of the Crosspool Festival committee, presented the money to group scout leader Michael Holmes. The scout group expressed its gratitude to Crosspool Forum and the Crosspool Festival for the donation.

Another cheque of the same value was been presented to Weston Park Cancer Information and Support Centre.

The hall on Benty Lane is available for hire for children’s parties and other events. Contact michaelfholmes1@gmail.com for more details.
