A fire engine and police are in attendance, with the fire put out by 8.15am.

Update 6 August: Looks like the shuttle bus may be in use now.
Update 3 August: After all the fuss, it seems the 51 is going via Manchester Road/Coldwell Lane after all.
31 July, 9am update: First Bus have announced that they will provide a free shuttle bus between Crosspool and Brook Hill. This will operate every 30 minutes between approximately 7.30am and 6.30pm. No fares will be charged – this is to feed into the main 51 bus.
The 51 bus service will not run along part of Sandygate Road next week during the day due to road improvement works for the Streets Ahead project.
From Monday 3 to Friday 7 August, from 7am-7pm each day, 51 buses will run between Broomhill and Sandygate along Fulwood Road, Gladstone Road, Ivy Park Road, Carsick Hill Road and re-join the normal route on Sandygate Road to and form Lodge Moor.
Buses on services 273, 274 and 275 are not affected and will still run along Manchester Road and along Benty Lane and Sandygate Road travelling towards the city centre through Crosspool as normal.
At the Crosspool Forum Open Meeting last night concerns were raised in particular about families not being able to easily access Ryegate Children’s Centre on Manchester Road.

The A57 Snake Pass will be closed from Monday 1 June until Sunday 14 June so that major repairs can be made to the retaining wall in four different places. There will be no through route from Glossop to Sheffield for any vehicle while the work is taking place.
The road will be closed from the junction of the A57 with the A6013 Ashopton Road to its junction with Hurst Road in Glossop.
A signed diversion route will be in place, which is A6013 − A6187 − B6049 − A623 − A6 − A615 − A624 − A57 (to point of closure) and vice versa.
The bend of Crookes Road next to The Grindstone pub has been identified as dangerous for cyclists by a campaign to make Sheffield’s roads safer.
Space for Cycling named the pinch point created by road narrowing by the pub as the main issue in Crookes ward.
Improvements for Fulwood ward were also highlighted.
Organiser Cycle Sheffield is asking all local council election candidates to pledge to support specific cycle improvements in all 28 wards in Sheffield.
AÂ Space for Cycling ride on Saturday saw hundreds of people, including children and families ride through the streets of Sheffield to call for a more cycle-friendly city.

The newly laid surface of Watt Lane has been under cut by a leaking water main at the junction with Cairns Road, resulting in the appearance of a pot hole.
Amey have been informed and the pot hole has been fenced off.

Adjustments to the midweek 51 bus service timetable came into operation today.
The revised timetables are part of operator First’s latest efforts to improve the reliability of the service.

Up to 16cm of snow fell on Crosspool on Boxing day evening, causing delays for drivers and the cancellation of the 51 bus service.
Traffic was moving slowly on roads all over Sheffield as the snow settled into the evening with delays on major roads and some minor roads blocked.
One journey from Crosspool to Millhouses reportedly took two hours. Some drivers abandoned their cars, deciding instead to continue their journey on foot.
As of 8am this morning First announced that the 51 bus service was suspended due to the conditions. It was running again by 4pm.
Many families took advantage of the holiday snow and ventured out for sledging, snowmen and snowball fights.

Traffic lights were installed installed today on the Watt Lane/Cairns Road junction, causing minor delays to traffic.
The signals are in places that Yorkshire Water can renew lead piping. Work could go on until 6 October.
