Provisional dates for Crosspool Forum Open Meetings in 2014 have been announced.

Come along to have your say on community issues. The meetings take place at St Columba’s church, starting 7pm:

  • Thursday 30 January 2014 – guest speakers include Amanda Forrest, CCG Governing Body Lay Member with responsibility for public and patient involvement and Dr Ted Turner, CCG Governing Body GP Lead with responsibility for public and patient involvement. They will give a brief outline of the CCG’s patient and public involvement etc, followed by a short question and answer session.

  • Thursday 30 October – AGM

Computer and tablet courses in January 2014

Crosspool Forum is helping organise three more courses to help those less confident using computers and tablets build their skills. They take place on different days, starting the week commencing 13 January 2014 at the Scout Hall on Benty Lane.

Beginners course
Learn how to us an iPad/tablet. Starts Tuesday 14 January 2014, 10am–12pm.

Moving On course
This course is suitable for those who attended the ‘iPad/tablet for Beginners’ course or who already have some knowledge of iPads/tablets. Starts Friday 17 January 2014, 10am–12pm.

Internet & Email course
Learn how to create an email address, surf and navigate your way around the internet. Starts Monday 13 January 2014, 1pm – 3pm

An iPad or laptop is provided, but please feel free to bring your own if you have one.

All courses are held at St John’s Scout Hut, Benty Lane, Crosspool, S10 5NF and cost just £10 for the whole course.

Have your say on Streets Ahead at Open Meeting/AGM, Thursday 24 October 2013

What are your thoughts on the Streets Ahead project so far?

A representative from Amey will be in attendance at this week’s Crosspool Forum Open Meeting/AGM, giving you the chance to ask questions and make comments on the progress of the project to resurface Sheffield roads, pavements and replace streetlights.

The meeting is on Thursday 24 October at St Columba’s Church and starts at 7pm.

You’ll also be able to give your concerns on local issues to local councillors, the police and council officials. A provisional agenda can be downloaded below.

New computer course starts on 4 June

Do you know anyone in Crosspool who is learning to use computers or who has not used one before?

Crosspool Forum and Heeley Development Trust are organising a computer course to show people how to save money, shop online, have fun and keep in touch with friends and family.

The five-week course starts on Tuesday 4 June 2013 and runs between 10am and 12pm at the scout hut on Benty Lane. It is free if the participant is on benefits, otherwise it costs £10.

Find out about Streets Ahead and Moor View Farm at Monday’s Open Meeting

Crosspool Forum’s next Open Meeting will take place on Monday 22 April at St Columba’s church. It starts at 7pm.

The guest speaker Moira Coad from Amey. She’ll be answering your questions about the project to replace Crosspool’s roads, pavements and streetlights over the next few years.

A prospective buyer of  Moor View farm on Manchester Road is also going to share his thoughts and ideas for the future of the property. Update 6.45pm on 22 April: unfortunately the prospective buyer won’t be able to join us for the meeting.

You’ll also have chance to give your concerns on local issues to local councillors, the police and officials.
