There’s still time for you to enter one of the Crosspool Festival competitions to showcase your creativity in the areas of art, photography, cake making and biscuit decorating
Entries for the Art and Photography Competition can be handed in at Cocker and Carr Estate Agents, 11-13 Sandygate Rd, Sheffield S10 5NG Tele: 0114 268 7777, any time before 5pm, Friday 28th June.
Entries for the cakes and biscuits Competition must be handed in at St Columba’s Church, 503 Manchester Rd, Sheffield S10 5PL, Tele: 0114 267 0006 on Tuesday 2nd July between 7 & 8 pm, or Wednesday morning 3rd July between 9 &10 am.
HALLAM CHASE, TUESDAY 28TH MAY

Tomorrow Tuesday 28th May, 8pm, the 3¼ miles long, with 800 feet of climb, annual Hallam Chase Fell Race, organised by Hallamshire Harriers and hosted by Hallam Cricket Club, takes place.
Runners set off from Hallam Football/Cricket Club’s Sandygate ground at 8pm, go down Den Bank through the Rivelin Valley and up Tofts Lane to Stannington Church gates, before returning by the same route.
This heritage related event goes back as far as 1862.
The current record time of 19 minutes 42 seconds was set in 1968 by Trevor Wright.

Ben’s Centre
Ben’s Centre is a registered charity that offers a home for those who have forgotten what home is.
It provides a clothing store, laundry, free food, hot drinks, free telephone and internet, referrals to Outreach and accommodation signposting to other agencies. Support and advice and a daily Outreach program for people on the streets in Sheffield City Centre
Northern General Hospital Cystic Fibrosis Unit
Sheffield Adult Cystic Fibrosis Centre, started functioning as a specialist regional centre in 1999 and is a regionally Cystic Fibrosis Trust accredited unit.
This charity was chosen for the late Dawn boulter, our Festival ex-Chair, whose daughter, Jess died of Cystic Fibrosis in 2017.

The “Hagg Lane and District Gardeners Allotments Society” will be holding the Second of their Annual Plant Sales at their allotment on Back Lane, Crosspool,

Saturday, May18th & Sunday May19th, between 9.30am and 2.30ish.
You, your friends & family and anyone else that visits at some point, either over the coming weekend or indeed at any time, will be made very welcome!

It is time for you to showcase your creativity
in the areas of art, photography, cake making and biscuit decorating.
Anyone who lives, works or goes to school in Crosspool can enter.
All you need to do is enter no more than two of your creations. These will be put on display for everyone to admire and judges will award certificates to the winners.
There is no theme to follow. Just show us what you can create.
The categories for entry are as follows:-
Biscuit decorating for young children:-
• Under-fives.
• Five to eleven years.
You don’t have to make the biscuit, just decorate it using your imagination and make sure you don’t eat them all before showing them off!
Art, Photograph and Cake making: – There are two categories for each.
• Under 16 years.
• Everyone over 16 years.
Photography prints can be either A5 or A4 in size, but there is no restriction on the size in the art or cake categories.
How to Enter:-
Entries for the cakes and biscuits must be handed in at St Columba’s Church Manchester Rd, Tuesday 2nd July between 7 & 8 pm,
or Wednesday morning 3rd July between 9 &10 am.
Entries for the art and photography can be handed in anytime at
Cocker and Carr Estate Agents but before 5pm on Friday 28th June.
The Event:-
This will take place on Wednesday 3rd July 2019 at St Columba church on Manchester Rd. People will be able to view the entries from 2:30 pm and refreshments will be available. Certificates and prizes will be presented to the winners at 4:30 pm.
