Please help keep Clough Field free of dog mess

This is a heartfelt reminder to dog walkers, who use Clough Field and other open spaces used by local children.

Please remember, in the interest of our children’s health, to clear up your dog’s mess by placing it safely into a biodegradable bag, and putting it into a special dog litter bin. If you cannot find a dog bin, then double wrap the dog bag and place it in a normal litter bin. Having no bags is not an excuse for failing to protect our children’s health and wellbeing.

Dog mess is a public nuisance, an eyesore and a threat to health. If you take a dog out (on or off the lead), (with the exception of being registered blind), you have a legal duty to clean up every time your dog messes in a public place, even if you are not the owner. If your dog goes out on its own and makes a mess, you’re still responsible – ignorance is not an excuse.

Thank you for your cooperation.

‘Chairman’ is quite right, and this applies to our streets and footpaths as well. The dogs are blameless, the owners should be ashamed and publicly humiliated!

  2. Gary says:

It’s not just dog mess. I regularly do a litter pick. Particularly bad around the benches.
