A New Restaurant Opens in Crosspool

The recently opened “Valencia Restaurant,” located at 34 Sandygate Rd., S10 5RY, adds to the thriving culinary scene in Crosspool. It complements an impressive lineup of local favourites, such as the beloved Papa Ciccio’s restaurant, the Sportsman and Crosspool Tavern pubs, and eateries like Hudson’s Kitchen, Aesthete, and Crosspool Social, all offering delicious meal options.

The kitchen equipment, furniture, and bar area of the former Varanasi restaurant have undergone a complete overhaul. By removing partition walls and upgrading the windows, the dining space has transformed the Valencia Restaurant into a bright, open area. Here, guests can relish a vibrant Mediterranean menu, a long-standing favourite since its debut in 2015 at their much-loved Selsey location.

New Crosspool coffee shop “Crosspool Social” opened this week

Marking a delightful addition to the local community, this week at 8.30am on Tuesday 3rd December, a new coffee shop opened in Crosspool.

The Crosspool Social Café is located in what was the Nest, next door to the Crosspool Pets and near the Sheffield-bound bus stop, making it an easily accessible spot for both locals and visitors alike.
The refurbishment of the premises, with cozy seating arrangements and ambient lighting, has created a warm and inviting interior with an atmosphere perfect for casual meetings or quiet moments.

The Crosspool Social Cafés opening times of 8.30am-5pm Monday to-Friday ; 9am-2pm on Saturdays, provides ample opportunity for coffee lovers to enjoy their range of good food throughout the week.

Crosspool Church Events

St Columba and Stephen Hill Church have opened their New Godly Play Recourse Centre on the stage at St Columba’s Church, 10am till 12pm every Monday and Friday in term time. A warm welcome awaits everyone who pops by to borrow a Godly Play Story, stays to enjoy a Godly play story being told, or just to have a chat and a drink.

All are welcome to drop in at St Columba’s church to enjoy pancakes on Pancake Day, Tuesday 21^st February, from 3.00pm to 4.30pm. Bring your own topping.

Stephen Hill Church is having a Family Fun Friday early Easter celebration on 3^rd March, 6.30pm. All are welcome to come and enjoy lots of Easter activities and an Easter Film.

St Columba welcomes all to join them for their Special All Age Cafe Church starts at 10.30am on the 5^th of March with a guest visitor from `Compassion UK’ speaking at this service about how we can help children in other countries.

Pop into “Nest” and Say Hi.

This week the “Nest” coffee shop in Crosspool is celebrating its 7th anniversary of serving customers coffee roasted in Sheffield, “Teapigs” speciality teas, homemade cakes & lite bites, and would love you to pop in and say hi.

Over the past seven years, the “Nest” has hosted acoustic nights, gin-tasting evenings various community events, and provided takeaways through Covid times.

Glynne and the team are looking forward to the next exciting year and would like to say “Thank You” to all their customers, both past and present, and wish everyone a “”Happy New Year”.

Art, Craft & Photography exhibitors, this is the last week for handing in your entries for the Crosspool Festival exhibition/competition.
There are two categories for each: – under 16yrs & over 16yrs.
Enter up to two creations in one or more of the Art, Craft & Photography sections.
You have until this Friday 24th June to drop off your entries at Cocker & Carr Estate Agents.

Cake Baking and Cup Cake Decorating, entries can be handed in at St Columba’s Church on Tuesday 28th June from 6pm to 7 pm or on Wednesday 29th June from 9am to 10am.
Cake Baking has two categories: – under 16yrs & over 16yrs.
Cup Cake decorating has two categories:- Under-fives & Five to eleven yrs.
