Tombstone Walking Festival walk to start from Crosspool

A free walk which forms part of Sheffield Walking Festival in September will depart from Crosspool.

On Monday 11 September 2017, the 16.5km walk leaves Crosspool shops at 10:20am and will then visit a number of cemeteries on the western edge of Sheffield.

As well as the cemeteries we go along the Rivelin Valley with its industrial archaeology and past a mini sculpture park. The walk has great views of the moorlands and the countryside. We finally take the old coffin path to High Bradfield and if we have time visit the motte and baile.

Wednesday’s quiz night at The Sportsman pub was well attended as usual.

The local quiz regulars were joined by visitors from Stannington and Hillsborough as resident quizmaster Roger chose a selection of traditional and Crosspool quiz questions to make the evening enjoyable for all.
