Carers Week is a national campaign held annually to raise awareness of caring and to recognise the huge contribution carers make to millions of families and communities in the UK. It also highlights the support carers receive in their own communities and Crosspool is a wonderful example of this.
As well as special events for the NHS and employers, there’s a full week of activities for carers, starting with Songs of Praise this Sunday where you’ll hear some of our carers’ stories as they’re filmed on a regular walk at Whirlow.
You can find more information about Carers Week on the Sheffield Carers Centre website:
The June Carers café will take place earlier in the month than usual on Monday 17th at 10.30am at Stephen Hill Methodist Church when we’ll be able to catch up with each other and plan some summer meetings.
Please come and join us and if you know someone- a friend or neighbour- who is a carer or former carer, bring them too.
