On Saturday 16 November the Yorkshire Wind Orchestra and Sheffield Youth Big Band present an Autumn Spectacular of classical and jazz music.
The evening starts at 7pm at St Luke’s Church in Lodge Moor and is in aid of Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity

Yorkshire Wind Orchestra events
Loxley Silver Band will play Last Night at the Proms celebration on Saturday 21 September to celebrate 100 years of Tapton Hill Church in its present building.
Last Night of the Proms traditionally includes patriotic numbers such as Land of Hope and Glory, Rule, Britannia! and Jerusalem.
The event at the church starts at 7.30pm and tickets, which include refreshments, are available for £6 from 07971 408809 or 0114 230 8191.
Local composer Samuel-L-Beagles will be showcasing his work at a concert in Crosspool on Saturday night.
Between 7pm and 10.30pm you can hear string quartet performances of The ‘Childhood’ Quartets. Tickets are £8/£4. Refreshments will be served at the interval.
The band Twice Around are playing music for all ages Crosspool Tavern on Friday night.
The music starts around 9pm. A fundraising raffle will also be drawn at 10pm in aid of Hallam FM Cash for Kids.
Carveries will be available until 9:30pm and the bar is open until midnight.
Can you spare any unwanted books for Crosspool Summer Fayre book stall?
If you’re able to donate books for the stall, please bring them to 17 Den Bank Drive by 23 June.
This will give the volunteers running the stall the time to categorise the books, making it easier for people to find a title they want on the day.

Money from the tombola will be used in promoting and improving the area of Crosspool to the benefit and wellbeing of its residents.
You’re invited to share your writing, poetry, songs and stories at a brand new event for this year’s Crosspool Festival.
The Scribble Storytelling Night is hosted by Sheffield Writer and takes place at St Columba’s church from 7-9pm on Monday 1 July.
Share your work, share your stories, make us laugh, make us cry. Everything and everybody is welcome, whether you want to speak or just listen.

The Spring art exhibition by artists from Hallam Art Group takes place this weekend.
From 10am-5pm on Saturday 13 to Sunday 14 April you can view pieces by the group at Hallam Community Hall on Hallam Grange Crescent, S10 4BD. Admission is free.
The Sheffield Folk Chorale will be performing in Crosspool on 16 March in aid of Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospital.
The event takes place at Stephen Hill Methodist church on Manchester Road and starts at 7.30pm. For tickets (£5) telephone 0114 233 8574 or 0114 286 3637.
This year’s Stephen Hill Youth pantomime is Beauty and the Beast. It runs from Wednesday 20 February to Saturday 23 February. Tickets, at £4/3 are available from Bob Hodges on 0114 230 3207. More information is in the flyer below.
