Crosspool Girls Junior FC Fund Bid
Crosspool JFC Girls Teams have applied to the Aviva Community Fund for £1000 to purchase equipment for their training sessions. The girls really enjoy participating in a team and we want to give them as much help as possible to improve their skill.
This funding is much needed and if you could spare a minute to vote for us, or even just share the link, it would be appreciated by all of the teams. It only takes a minute to register and you can cast up to ten votes. Please see the below link to view the project –Get involved – voting closes at midday, 20 November 2018
Mobile Speed Cameras in Crosspool
As part of the South Yorkshire Safer Roads Partnership to reduce the many collisions that contribute to the needless heartache and distress for victims and families, South Yorkshire Mobile Safety Cameras are now regularly deployed to monitor motorists on the 30mph section of Manchester Road between Bell Hagg and Benty Lane.
Although they do have the power to prosecute those who break the speed limit, they would rather persuade drivers to slow down before they are caught on film.
To help them to achieve their aim of reducing the number of collisions and deaths on our roads, keep to the speed limit.

Hagg Lane Allotments Annual Hibernation
Hagg Lane & District Gardeners’ Allotments Society  will not be dressing up especially, but this is to remind you that the Allotment Society Hut will be embarking on its annual (partial) hibernation as from now. The volunteer team are already making plans for Saturday morning duvet parties (which will not be taking place at the hut…) but they will still be very pleased to see you on Sunday mornings, when they will be open for business as usual.

Their opening hours remain as 9.30am -12.30pm, and the fire and kettle should be on the go at most times in between.
The cake makers are beginning to limber up for festive offerings, and a rumour of a Swiss-roll-off has been circulating. Such simple pleasures!
Autumn work parties have failed to get going yet, but the time is nigh! Depending on the weather, Saturday November 10th is looking like a possibility. If you are interested in helping doing a bit of cutting back and tidying up, and are likely to be free, please let them know.

Have you Lost a Gold Ring
A gold ring, with a distinctive inscription inside, was found around the 15th of October in the Crookes Cemetery/Mulehouse Road area.
If you think this is yours, please email the crosspoolforum@gmail.com and we’ll pass the information onto the finder.
