Countrymen lose to Nostell and Bridlington

Two defeats in seven days have meant Crosspool’s local football club Hallam FC has been unable to lift itself off the bottom of the Northern Counties East Premier League.

The Countrymen lost 4-1 to Nostell Miners Welfare on Saturday 12 March and suffered a 2-0 reverse to Bridlington Town over the weekend.

Hallam’s next game at Sandygate is on Thursday against Hall Road Rangers, kick off 7:45pm.

Hallam finally win

Hallam recorded a long-overdue league win at the expense of Arnold Town on Tuesday night at Sandygate.

A goal by Simon Asquith in the 18th minute was enough to secure the three points.

Despite the win, the Countrymen still find themselves at the bottom of the NCEL Premier Division. They have played fewer league games than the teams around them, so still have chance to climb the table.

Hallam’s next match is tomorrow against Nostell Miners Welfare at Sandygate, kick off 3pm.
