Christmas Wishes

Christmas is a joyful reminder to share experiences, nurture cherished traditions, and embody generosity, kindness, and compassion.

When we carry these values beyond the festive season, the true essence of Christmas inspires us to give back to our communities, enriching every moment with meaning.
In living these values throughout the year, the spirit of Christmas continues to shine brightly, illuminating our lives with hope and connection.

With the New Year on the horizon, we wish you and your loved ones joy, success, and prosperity, and a fresh sense of hope and togetherness to carry you through the year.”

Carols on Dransfield Road

Residents of Dransfield Road celebrated the night before Christmas with carols on the street accompanied by brass musical instruments.

It’s the third year running that people living on the road have got together on Christmas eve to sing carols, drink mulled wine and eat mince pies. Despite a couple of rain showers, over 60 people joined in.

Happy Christmas to all in Crosspool and here’s to a good 2015 for our community.

St. Columba's church, Crosspool
St. Columba's church, Crosspool

This Christmas, St Columba’s church in Crosspool is celebrating its second Angel Festival, using large willow angel figures created for the church by local artist Lesley Warren.

The word angel means “messenger” and community groups have been invited to create an angel that expresses the message of their group this Christmas. The host of angels will be exhibited at St. Columba’s over the weekend before Christmas. The exhibition is open from 10am-2pm on Saturday 17 December, with hand bell ringers at 11am.

On Sunday 18 December, the exhibition is open 3-4 pm with an Angel Carol Service at 4pm. Refreshments will be served and donations received in aid of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, who have been a huge support to a local family.
