Volunteers are needed in Crookes and Crosspool to join a community speed watch group.
The Southwest Local Area Committee is looking for enthusiastic individuals to help make our roads safer.

The recently opened “Valencia Restaurant,” located at 34 Sandygate Rd., S10 5RY, adds to the thriving culinary scene in Crosspool. WISEUP EVENT 2025: This event is aimed at over 50’s, but most content is suitable for adults of all ages
The Joint Community Safety Team is holding an event for South Yorkshire residents.
WISEUP is on Thursday, 29th May 2025, and is aimed at over 50’s, but most content is suitable for adults of all ages, particularly those with caring responsibilities for adults.
The event will be held at Lifewise Centre, Hellaby, Rotherham, S66 8LB, in our purpose-built fully interactive set, https://www.lifewise999.co.uk/, which is just off Junction 1 of the M18 by car, and easily accessible by the X1 bus service if you have no access to a vehicle.
The day includes important inputs from South Yorkshire Police & South Yorkshire Fire Service, including
• Doorstep crime
• Home fire safety
• Herbert Protocol
• Drive Safe for older drivers
• Fraud & cyber crime

Once again, the 2025 Festival will be holding a two-day exhibition to showcase the skill and talent of those who live, work, worship, socialise or shop in Crosspool.
For the last two years we have been privileged to have local talent giving live demonstrations on a wide range of craft and artwork covering
We are again looking for individuals to demonstrate their craft and skill during the exhibition for a couple of hours in the morning or afternoon of the exhibition, which takes place on Tuesday and Wednesday, 1st & 2nd July.
No matter what your area of craft, art or photography, we are keen for you to come and share what you do.

Care in Crosspool is a local charity established in 1986 to offer voluntary support to people living in the Crosspool area.
They focus on befriending and helping the elderly and those caring for a relative in the community.

Its looking as though Manchester Road from Broomhill to Shore Lane will be closed for highway maintenance, starting Monday, 25th February. The closure will last for 5 to 7 nights, from 8pm to 5am. Parking will be prohibited during these hours.
