A 2-day Craft, Art, Photography and Cake exhibition at St Columba Church, Manchester Road, Crosspool.

This event will showcase a wide range of creative works in various mediums, including crafts, art, photography, and delectable cakes. It is a wonderful opportunity to appreciate the talent and craftsmanship of local artists and photographers.
The event will be held for two days, providing ample time for visitors to immerse themselves in the vibrant and diverse creative atmosphere. Savor the unique artistry and indulge in the mouthwatering delights at this extraordinary exhibition held in the heart of Crosspool. Don’t miss the chance to experience this inspiring event at the renowned Church of St Columba.

Day 1            TUESDAY 4th July, 10am to 4pm.
Craft, Art, Photography and Cake exhibits from the people who work live, volunteer, worship, or attend school in Crosspool.
An Introduction to stamp collecting by Crosspool members of the Sheffield Philately Society.

PLUS:  Claire Gregory & Rowena Wilson, from the Holly Hagg Community Farm, giving an Alpaca Fleece Spinning Demonstration. #10am until 2pm.

Day 2            WEDNESDAY 5th July, 12 noon to 7pm.
Craft, Art, Photography and Cake exhibits from the people who work, live, volunteer, worship, or attend schools in Crosspool.
An Introduction to stamp collecting by Crosspool members of the Sheffield Philately Society.

This is a reminder to all Crosspool Scarecrow Creators.
Please pop your completed entry form into the Crosspool Pet Supplies, Sandygate Road, on or before the Closing Date, Wednesday 28th June. (Through the letter box, if closed)

We can collect them if necessary, or they can be dropped off locally.

The Annual Summer Fayre is part of the Crosspool Festival, which this year runs from Friday 30th June to Sunday 9th July, and will take place from 1.00pm – 4.30pm on Saturday 8th July.

People of Crosspool can now hand in their Art, Craft and Photography at Cocker & Carr Estate Agents, Sandygate Road.

Art and Craft Creations.
This is open to Under 16s; Everyone over 16 years.
You can submit up to two creations that you have made yourself.
You must include a card that gives details of

  • Your name
  • Age category
  • Your contact email and phone number.

You can now drop off your entries at Cocker & Carr Estate Agents. The closing date is midday on Friday 30th June.

Photography
This is open to Under 16s; Everyone over 16 years.
You can submit a maximum of two images and the prints can be any size from A5 or A3. They can be print only or be mounted or framed on the back you must state

  • Your name
  • Age category
  • Your contact email and phone number
  • A title for your photo.

You can now drop off your entries at Cocker & Carr Estate Agents. The closing date is midday on Friday 30th June.

A reminder to start planning your Scarecrow competition ‘Children’s TV programme’ creation.

The Scarecrow Competition is always a highlight of the Crosspool Summer Festival.
This year’s Competition Theme is: ‘Children’s TV Programmes’. You are welcome to create anything you like based on this theme.
The competition is open to anyone in the Crosspool area.

Pop into the Crosspool Pet Supplies on Sandygate Road to pick up your entry form or download one Here.  
The competition entry fee is just £4
Your Scarecrow will be judged whilst on display from 10:00 am Friday 30th June to 6 pm Friday 7th July
The winners of the three excellent prizes, donated by local businesses, will be announced at the Summer Fayre, Coldwell Lane Park/Sports Hall, on 8th July 2023.
All proceeds will go to Crosspool Festival Charities.

Crosspool Festival 2023

2023 Crosspool Festival Art, Craft, Photography, Cake Baking Exhibition, Demonstrations and Awards. Tuesday 4th & Wednesday 5th July, St Columba’s church.

This summer, Crosspool Festival is holding a two-day exhibition for the people of Crosspool to showcase their creativity in the areas of Art, Craft, Photography and Cake Making.

Entry Details
Anyone who lives, works, volunteers or goes to school in the Crosspool area can enter and have their submission exhibited. There will be a chance also to win some prizes, which are sponsored by Cocker & Carr Estate Agents.

There will also be demonstrations on Spinning Alpaca Fleece on Tuesday and Lace Making on Wednesday; plus an introduction to Philately; a fun and addictive hobby of stamp collecting. There will also be a display from Crosspool Members of the Sheffield Photography Society.

There is no theme to follow, just show us what you can create. You can enter as many of the categories as you want, but no more than two entries per category.

The Cake Baking and Crafts will be judged on Wednesday 5 July at St Columba’s Church. 

The Photography and art entries will not be chosen by a judge. Rather, the visitors to the exhibition will be able to vote for their favourites in both the under-16s and over-16s categories.

After the exhibition, Cocker & Carr will then put on a window display for some of the entries in the art, craft and photography categories

How to Enter.

Cake Baking.
This is open to Under 16s; Everyone over 16 years.
You can submit up to two cakes that you have made yourself.
Your cakes can be handed in at St Columba’s Church either on Monday 3rd July between 6 -7 pm or Tuesday 4th July from 9-10 am. You must include a card that gives details of

      • Your name
      • Age category
      • Your contact email and phone number.
      • Ingredients (info on potential allergies).

      Art and Craft Creations.
